Only two more videos of my head being chopped off. I hereby promise it won’t happen anymore. I got a tip from a student on how to prevent said head chopping so I will put my new found knowledge into practice for the next video rounds.

In this video you are going to learn how to ask someone “How are You?” you will also learn how to sign “what’s up” because I feel like those to can be linked.

Don’t forget that when you are signing “how are you” to lower your eyebrows because it is a wh question. When signing “what’s up” you will do the same because that one as well is a wh question.

Happy Signing!

This post goes hand in hand with the previous post. As soon as you show any hint of knowing American Sign Language people will just start signing away. To avoid the deer in the headlights look maybe start right off the bat with saying that you just know a little bit of sign. Then the person you are conversing with will hopefully take it easy on you. Hopefully! Don’t forget to make sure your face is matching how you feel. I would practice in a mirror as well because sometimes people think that they are showing a certain emotion on their face when in fact it’s kind of blank! Over exaggerate! This is a visual language! You may feel a little funny in the beginning but that’s normal. Check out the video

It doesn’t matter what language you are speaking, French, German, Chinese, as soon as you say boo in that language the person you are conversing with will just start talking away and you have no idea what they are saying. Same goes for ASL. Have no fear, just throw out this simple sign to let them know that you are just starting to learn and hopefully they will go easy on you! If they are signing to0 fast you can see a detailed description on how to ask someone to slow down their signing speed in this video
I was sent a request on asking how to sign “Where are you going?”. So here it is. Don’t get confused on the two different ways to sign this sentence. Both ways are correct just different ways to sign the same thing. Quite often when you are signing a sentence with WHERE in it, it can either be put on the end of the sentence or in the beginning and the end. If you do put it in the beginning you have to put it at the end as well so don’t forget!

Every time I write good afternoon, good evening and good night I think of Jim Carrey’s line in the movie “The Truman Show” when he says, “and in case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening and good night”

So anyways, I know I know in the videos I cut off half my head but that’s ok because as long as you can see my hands that’s all that really matters for these signs. Although for the afternoon sign you can’t really see the top of my hand so basically it’s just a flat open palm facing to the left if you are a righty. It’s the same handshape you use for good and morning.

You want to be careful when signing morning. You don’t want to bring your hand all the way up because then you are signing all morning. In the videos I get pretty close to signing “all morning” so just be careful with that. Instead you want your hand ending up straight out in front of you and not pointing up.

I hope you enjoy learning how to sign “Good Morning” “Good Afternoon” “Good Evening” and “Goodnight”

I had a dodgeball game last night and we got a shutout of 18-0 Pretty good! I was killing it last night with a few good face shots.

So the Red Sox had a really embarrassing loss last night. I don’t even want to say what the final score was. In this video you can learn how to sign what the score is and who won. How about this, send me a video of you signing one of those phrases and I will respond back with a video. Yesterday on Twitter someone asked me how to sign White so they can sign White Sox and I replied back with a video I love getting requests so you can send them along!
So anyways without further adieu here is the video! Also how do you like my latest hat??
